Tonya Hicks, an accomplished leader, and trailblazer in construction, energy, and promoting women’s empowerment. As the President and CEO of Power Solutions, Inc., Managing Principal of Women Do Everything, LLC, and Founder/President of she-EV, Inc. Tonya has made significant contributions in several male-dominated industries. With a passion for excellence, Tonya’s journey began as she broke barriers, becoming the first woman to become a Journeyman Inside Wireman Electrician in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 917 and the first Black Woman to become an IBEW Journeyman Electrician in the State of Mississippi.

In 2000, at the age of 28, Tonya founded Power Solutions, Inc., an electrical contracting, and facility maintenance company. Today PSI specializes in renewable energy, electrification, and EV charging solutions. Her visionary leadership has driven the company’s success, expanding its operations internationally, as featured in Forbes Japan in November 2019. Additionally, Tonya’s progress as a tradeswoman and business owner in the construction industry garnered recognition in the New York Times in March 2020. Recognizing the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion, Tonya launched Women Do Everything LLC in 2015. Through this initiative, she has been instrumental in training and supporting women in male-dominated industries, both through employment and entrepreneurship. During the pandemic, Tonya founded sheEV, to provide safer EV charging locations for women, elderly, and disable persons. In 2024, the launch of the she-EV Car Club will be the first of its kind; providing community support, educational resources, and products members can trust.

Tonya’s commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond her professional endeavors. She serves on the boards of esteemed organizations. She has also participated in prestigious programs like Leadership Atlanta Class of 2022 and is recognized as a Sustainability Ambassador for the City of Atlanta. Tonya’s remarkable achievements have been acknowledged with numerous honors and awards. Notably, she was named the Minority Contractor of the Year by the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) – Atlanta Chapter in 2021. Her expertise in climate change has led to her inclusion in Project Drawdown’s Drawdown Neighborhood Series for Atlanta, Ga. In 2023, Tonya’s outstanding leadership qualities were further acknowledged as she was selected to participate in the Leadership America program by Leadership Women. Her contributions to the construction industry were recognized globally, as she was honored as one of the 2023 Top 100 Women in Construction by Top 100 Women.
